Sandwell’s Cabinet approved a revised paper (not quite as bad as the first one) on Wednesday which increases car parking charges throughout the Borough. The increased charges are still a significant increase.
However, the approved report also included charges for 1,2,3,4,5 days a week on named days which could prove beneficial to anyone currently able to do hybrid working.
More importantly, within the approved paper is a paragraph for the employer to talk to trade unions about concessions for staff.
We are awaiting these discussions, which without doubt is a by-product of UNISON making representation at the public consultation, UNISON undertaking a petition and UNISON meeting the Council Leader to submit the petition. As soon as there is any news we will share on this website.
