The NJC pay award for 2023/24 has finally been agreed. See official confirmation at the bottom of this article.
UNISON wanted to agree this award earlier but waited for our sister trade unions to conclude their ballots.
The offer of £1,925 on all pay points or 3.88% after pay point 42 (pro-rata for part-time staff) will be backdated to 1 April. It is expected that the award should be in your November’s pay.
The impact on Sandwell Council’s pay grades and hourly rates are attached.
UNISON will begin work on the 2024/25 pay claim. We need to show we can beat the ballot thresholds across most employers to win better pay than that offered, which is usually below inflation.
