Victory to CSA’s in their fight for Grade Justice

UNISON and Unite welcome the offer from Senior Management for Customer Service Assistants, the lowest paid staff working in the Neighbourhood Offices, to be paid a better grade.

The unions were proud that the 20 UNISON members and 14 Unite members gave a solid 100% vote for action in their fight for grade justice.

Matthew Law from Unite said, “We thank the local authority for finally engaging in meaningful negotiations which led to a suitable offer that our members were happy to accept.”

Tony Barnsley from UNISON added, “The 100% votes for action put our members in a strong position and we were able to negotiate from a position of strength. We congratulate our members for their unified show of strength.”

Regional Official from UNISON, Tracy Wood, and from Unite, Brian Rickers, stated, “The offer of better pay from 1 May 2019 means that there will no longer be any need for the planned industrial action. We welcome the decision of Sandwell Council to bring this matter to a conclusion.”
