UNISON Members at SLT vote for Action

UNISON members working for Sandwell Leisure Trust have voted for industrial action against the Trust’s plans to dismiss and re-engage all staff to remove them from national pay, terms and conditions (referred to as the NJC).

On a 71.8% turnout, UNISON members voted 68.6% in favour of taking industrial action. Colleagues in the GMB voted 75% to take industrial action.

Talks continue to take place with Management at SLT.  Talks are taking place between the Council and SLT.

There is still time to avoid a damaging dispute, but UNISON members have given a strong vote in their resolve to defend their pay, terms and conditions.

Members meetings will be organised shortly, before any industrial action is called.
