We would like to thank all of you who have taken the time to return our ballot papers and as we have reported the results to the employer, its now time to let you all know how the results went.
We had 77% of our posted ballot papers returned, which is a good return for a postal ballot. 92% of people who responded voted to REJECT the proposal as laid out by SLT management. 82% of votes returned gave us the mandate to progress to an formal industrial action ballot.
We have reported the results to the employer and we have stated to them that if they do not revise or change their proposal then we will commence a formal ballot for industrial action, in line with the clear mandate you have given us.
